Geffrey Davis, University of Arkansas professor and Prison Story Project Writer in Residence and Education Advocacy Director, has won a $50,000 Whiting Public Engagement Fellowship to support public engagement by humanities faculty.

This award will allow the Prison Story Project to continue to tour the staged reading of “On The Row”, stories from Arkansas’ death row inmates, to high schools and juvenile detention centers in six counties in Arkansas: Sebastian, Garland, Miller, Polk, Hempstead, and Phillips, as well as evening adult performances in those counties. It will also allow The Prison Story Project to produce a filmed version of the staged reading and create a comprehensive teaching manual so that other organizations may replicate our prison arts program.

The tour will take place October 21 – 26, 2019.
