Author Molly Brodak will visit Fayetteville on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 13 and 14 to read from her new book, Bandit: A Daughter’s Memoir, recently released from Grove Atlantic. The memoir chronicles the emotional experiences of growing up with a bank robber father landing in and out of prison. The current class of incarcerated women participating in Stories From the Inside Out at the Northwest Arkansas Correction Center are reading the book and connecting intensely. Many of the eleven women have claimed the book depicts their experiences word for word. On Wednesday, December 14, Brodak will read from her book for the entire correctional center population in the afternoon and then visit with the eleven women in class for a book signing and conversation that evening. Brodak will give two public readings on Tuesday, December 13. She will read from her memoir and give a brief Q & A at 6pm at Nightbird Books. Then she will read from her poetry as part of the Open Mouth Reading Series at 8pm at The Nines at 546 W. Center Street. Brodak’s visit has been underwritten by the Prison Story Project and donors who have contributed to our Indigogo campaign. We are still collecting funds. You may contribute on this website.
